2026 Carderock 5k, 10k, and Half Marathon : Carderock Recreation Area
The event features three distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
All three routes run along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal towpath on a light gravel dirt trail. Each course is an out and back and has minimal elevation gains. The half marathon includes a 3 hour 15 minute completion time limit.
Aid and support include water stations placed along each course: ten stations on the half marathon, four on the 10k, and one on the 5k. Gatorade is available at some stations. Restrooms are located by the main parking lot. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on site race registration.
Participants receive a finisher medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt quantities are guaranteed for runners registered before the stated deadline and otherwise provided on a first come first served basis. Live results are posted online with a QR code available at the event and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Runner tracking via SMS is available during registration. Photos taken by staff are posted online after the event.
Points from this event count toward the Year Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring Series. Parking is available within the recreation area; the event location GPS pin is 38.972563, -77.198738. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
