2027 Carderock 5k, 10k & Half
This event on April 25, 2027 takes place at Carderock Recreation Area on the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath in Potomac, MD. It offers three measured race distances that run out-and-back along the C&O Canal path, a light gravel dirt trail with minimal elevation gain. The course is described by the organizer as fast and flat.

The event is chip timed. Registered participants receive a finisher medal and a technical Drifit event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by the organizer's published cut-off date. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Walkers are welcome.
Points from the event count toward the organizer's Year-Long series for 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack, and also toward the Spring Series. The race posts live results and final results with series points after the event.
Aid and logistics include multiple water stations along each course (ten stations on the half marathon route, four on the 10k, one on the 5k), with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are located by the main parking lot. Packet pickup is available at the event and there is no on-site race registration.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to top finishers in standard age groups, with eligibility rules for overall placers and age group awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
