Womens Running Event - Ashford
The Womens Running Event at Victoria Park in Ashford is a recurring community run organised by CSU Ashford and hosted by officers from the Kent Police Ashford Neighborhood Policing Team. Officers run alongside participants to promote personal safety and to provide an opportunity to exercise together in a supportive environment. The sessions take place once a month throughout the winter months and during darker evenings.
Participants meet at the park fountain and take part in a light warm-up before following the planned routes. Distances offered include:
- 5 km route available
- 2.5 km shorter route available
Organisers advise wearing hi-visibility clothing or accessories, carrying a torch or running light, and using appropriate running footwear. The event description states that all abilities are welcome and that no one will be left behind.
