Event Details
The CAK5K on the Runway is scheduled for a Sunday in October. The event offers multiple categories: an Adult Run/Walk for ages 19-99, a Youth Run/Walk for ages 1-18, and a free Lil' Captains Dash. Standard registration prices are $35 for adults and $25 for youth, with a noted price increase after July 5.
Course & Experience
The event takes place in Green, Ohio at 2260 International Parkway. The course is noted for being a unique experience, as it runs on an active airport runway and through the Ohio Air Guard facility. The start and finish line is located at the MAPS Air Museum.
Special Features
Within the main 5K event, there is a separate, timed 100-meter sprint called the Afterburner Zone, situated after the 2.2-mile mark. The event includes a finisher medal, race swag, and a post-race party with food and beverages. Awards are given for both the main 5K and the Afterburner Zone across numerous age categories.
Logistics & Support
Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday before the event at two Second Sole locations in Akron and Canton. The event supports the MAPS Air Museum as its beneficiary and is also part of the Green Great 8 Race Series and the Akron 200 Celebration. Military discounts are available upon request.
