Kent Turkey Trot
The Kent Turkey Trot is a family-oriented sports event held on Thanksgiving morning in Kent, Ohio. The gathering takes place at Fred Fuller Park with activities centered around the Shelter House. Participants can choose between two distinct movement options:
- 5K run and walk
- Fun Run measuring less than 800 meters
The event offers several amenities for those who pre-register. The first 900 individuals registered for the 5K receive a winter beanie hat or a soft crew sweatshirt. Participants in the Fun Run are provided with t-shirts. Organizers conduct packet pickup on the day before the race at the Kent Park and Rec Shelter House, as well as on the morning of the event. There is no registration available on the day of the race.
The competition includes recognition for various performance categories. Medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over. In the Fun Run, medals are given to the top 20 winners, while all other participants in that category receive ribbons. Parking is available across the street from the Shelter House and Fred Fuller Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
