Brotherhood for the Fallen 1/2 Mile Fun Run, 5K & 10K
This event comprises a community remembrance run and related activities held at the Suffolk County Police Department - 4th Precinct in Smithtown, NY. Distances offered include:
- 1/2 mile Fun Run
- 5K
- 10K
An opening ceremony includes the national anthem. The 5K course is used for both distances; the 10K adds an extra loop and is hilly between miles three and four. Water stations are provided at mile two and between miles four and five. Suffolk County Highway Patrol officers will lead the 5K and 10K on course.
Event amenities include guaranteed T-shirts by June 20 for registered participants, finishers medals for the 5K and 10K, free finish line photos, personalized bibs for those who register three weeks in advance, a DJ and announcer, post-race refreshments, vendors, and an awards ceremony. Family-oriented features listed for the fun run include mascots, a balloon artist, and a photo booth. Raffles and a silent auction are planned with multiple payment methods accepted.
Awards include cash prizes for top overall finishers and top first responders, age group medals for top three finishers across specified age brackets, and team and fundraising recognitions. Proceeds benefit the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a nonprofit supporting families of fallen law enforcement officers. Previous race results and bib lookup information are available for reference.
