Brotherhood for the Fallen 1/2 Mile Fun Run, 5K & 10K - Smithtown, NY
This community run on July 11, 2026 is held at the Suffolk County Police Department - 4th Precinct in Smithtown, New York. The event offers three course options and is organized to benefit the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a nonprofit that supports families of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
Distances:
- 1/2 mile Fun Run, non-competitive, free with no registration required
- 5K run/walk
- 10K run using the 5K course plus an additional loop; the 10K has a hilly section between miles 3 and 4
Course logistics include water stations at mile two and between miles four and five. All 5K and 10K finishers receive a medal. A guaranteed event T-shirt is available for registrants by June 20; a T-shirt and goody bag are also offered to Fun Run finishers while supplies last. Personalized bibs are provided for those who register three weeks in advance.
Event amenities list a national anthem performance at the opening ceremony, finish line photos, DJ and announcer, post-race refreshments, vendors, raffles and a silent auction, a balloon artist, a complimentary photo booth, and an arcade basketball trailer with free play. The 5K and 10K courses will be led by Suffolk County Highway Patrol Officers.
Packet pickup is available Friday before the event from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the event location; day-of check-in begins at 6:30 am. Proceeds support the Brotherhood for the Fallen. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
