Brotherhood for the Fallen 1/2 Mile Fun Run, 5K & 10K
This event takes place on July 11, 2026 at the Suffolk County Police Department 4th Precinct, 727 Veterans Memorial Highway, Smithtown, NY. It includes a free half mile fun run plus chip-timed 5K and 10K races.

The half mile fun run is non-competitive and requires no pre-registration; participants receive a T-shirt or goody bag while supplies last. All 5K and 10K finishers receive a medal. Runners who register three weeks before the event may receive a personalized bib and a guaranteed T-shirt by June 20. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day at the registration tent.
Both the 5K and 10K courses are certified. The 5K is relatively flat except for a short 50 meter downhill and 50 meter uphill when crossing Creek Road. The 10K uses the 5K course with an additional loop that is hilly between miles 3 and 4. The 5K and 10K will be led by Suffolk County Highway Patrol officers.
Amenities include an opening ceremony with the national anthem, on-course tributes honoring fallen Suffolk County officers, a DJ and announcer, post-race refreshments, free finish line photos, vendors, raffles and giveaways, a photo booth, balloon art, and an arcade basketball trailer. Cash prizes and age group medals are awarded, and proceeds benefit the Brotherhood for the Fallen, a nonprofit that supports families of fallen law enforcement officers.
