Brazos Bend 100
The Brazos Bend 100 is a trail running event held in Brazos Bend State Park, located south of Houston and Sugar Land, Texas. The course takes place on a multi-loop system where each loop is approximately 16.7 miles. The terrain is 99.9% flat, consisting of surfaces such as crushed rock, soft hiking trails under tree canopy, and smooth horse trails. Typical weather conditions in December range between 40 and 70 degrees.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 100 Miles
- 100 Kilometers
- 26.2 Miles
- 13.1 Miles
- 1 Kilometer (for children 12 years and under)
The 100-mile race serves as a Western States 100 Lottery Qualifier for participants who finish in under 32 hours. The finish line for all distances remains open until Sunday afternoon, providing varying cutoff times based on the race start.
Pacers are permitted for the longer distances under specific regulations. Runners in the 100-mile event may have a pacer for the final two loops, while 100-kilometer runners may have a pacer for the final loop only. Pacers must register individually and are recommended to start or finish at the Elm Lake Pavilion. No pacers are allowed for the marathon or half marathon distances.
The state park is known for its diverse wildlife, including a large population of birds and American Alligators. All participants and visitors are required to have park passes, which are included in race and pacer registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
