PECAN GROVE TURKEY TROT

The 5K is offered as both competitive and non-competitive timed events, and a chipped bib is provided. The Kids 1 Mile Trot is a timed event for children 12 and under, also with a chipped bib. The 1 Mile Adoption Awareness Trot is an awareness walk and does not use a bib. Registration opens June 30, 2026. Listed entry prices are $20 for the 5K, $10 for the Kids 1 Mile, and $15 for the 1 Mile Adoption Awareness Trot.
Amenities and purpose
On-site features include a Kids Zone with inflatables, music by DJ SB, and a vendor and sponsor row with food and drinks. Prizes are provided for all participants, with special prizes for male and female 1st-3rd place in each category. Proceeds support The Thankful Ones Adoptive Family Grant Award Program, which funds adoption-related costs such as attorney fees, state-mandated fees, and court costs. Grants are paid directly to the invoicing entity. Since 2022 the program reports over $200,000 awarded to more than 50 adoptive families and foster children.
