Sugar Land Turkey Trot
The Sugar Land Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving morning road event held in the Sugar Creek neighborhood. The 2026 edition is presented by Shottenkirk Fort Bend Kia and is the 41st running of the event. The event originated in 1986 as the Houston-area's original Turkey Trot.
There are three separate participation options:
- 1-mile kids run
- 5-mile timed race
- 2.8-mile family walk or jog
The overall male and female winners in the Open and Masters categories of the 5-mile race receive prizes. The event is organized with sponsors and community partners and includes race information, route details, and results and photos as part of its program.
Registration for the 2026 event is open. The race is described as a family-themed Thanksgiving tradition held in the Sugar Land area and maintains a longstanding community presence in the neighborhood where it takes place. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
