Turkey Trot - Sugar Land
The 41st annual Sugar Land Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running event in Sugar Land, TX. The event honors the race's former director and supports multiple local charities through donations and an on-site food drive. Event shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after November 16, 2026.
Distances offered include:
- 1 mile kids run (ages 12 and under; strollers allowed)
- 2.8 miles family walk and jog (non-competitive; strollers allowed)
- 5 miles competitive chip-timed run (certified loop course; each mile marked; time limit applies)
Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled on the two days before Thanksgiving at designated locations, with one packet pickup at Fleet Feet Sugarland. Race-day packet pickup is reserved for out-of-town participants; there is no race-day registration for general entries. Online registration closes on November 25, 2026.
Logistics include free parking near the start in the Sugar Creek Village Shopping Center and additional parking in nearby church lots, medical support from local fire department EMTs on course and at the finish, and an official race photographer with photos available after the event. The post-race party will include an awards ceremony, a costume contest, and post-race snacks. Volunteers are requested to assist with race operations.
