Event Overview
The Bolton Half Marathon & 10k is a new running event scheduled for Sunday, 1 March 2026. It is organized by Epic Events and will be held at Queen's Park in Bolton. The event features two distances: a half marathon and a 10k race.
Route Information
The route starts and finishes in historic Queen’s Park. It passes through the town centre, following much of the Ironman run course. Runners will pass the Bolton Town Hall and the Le Mans Crescent, which is known for its frequent appearances in television and film. The half marathon consists of three laps of this route, while the 10k is 1.5 laps. Both courses are UKA licensed and are officially certified distances.
Entry Information
There are different entry fees based on distance and UK Athletics affiliation status.
- Half Marathon: Minimum age 17. £37 for UKA-affiliated runners, £39 for non-affiliated.
- 10k: Minimum age 15. £30 for UKA-affiliated runners, £32 for non-affiliated.
Registration closes either when the event is full or at 12:00 noon on the Friday before race day.
Included Amenities
The entry fee includes a custom-designed finisher's medal, feed stations on the route, electronic timing, drinks at the finish line, and free downloadable event photographs.
Cut-off Times
Due to road closure schedules, half marathon runners must reach a specific point (approximately 10.75 miles into the route) by midday on their final lap.
