Turkey Trails - Des Moines
Turkey Trails is an annual Thanksgiving themed running event held on November 22, 2026 at Gray's Lake Park, 2101 Fleur Dr, Des Moines, Iowa. The event offers multiple in-person race options and a virtual race option that can be completed anywhere.
The event provides chip timing with live results, awards, free photos, event shirts, and finisher medals. Finish-line refreshments are available. Several race registrations include a custom bib and a designer shirt. A shirt guarantee applies to registrations completed by midnight two Thursdays before race day.
Distances and event options:
- Kids Dash - 50 m, ages 10 and under; mini bib, youth shirt, kids medal
- 1 Mile - untimed; includes custom bib, designer shirt, finisher medal
- 5K - chip-timed; includes custom bib, designer shirt, finisher medal
- 10K - chip-timed; includes custom bib, designer shirt, finisher medal
- Half Marathon - includes custom bib, designer shirt, finisher medal
- Virtual Race - run anywhere, any time; includes event swag
- Volunteer then Run - volunteer before packet pickup, then run any distance
Youth pricing applies to the 5K and 10K for participants 12 and under at a reduced fee. The kids dash allows free participation without swag on race day for children who prefer not to receive the event items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
