Ankeny Turkey Trot : Ankeny, IA
Ankeny Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving day running event held at DMACC Ankeny Campus in Ankeny, Iowa on November 26, 2026. The event features a chip timed 5K and a kids dash with a separate kids division fun run. The 5K course has a time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes.
Event gear options include a classic t shirt or an upgrade to a thin tec soft polyester pullover. Donutland donuts are available at the finish line. All water stations include water and there is no gear check on site. Purchased add on finisher medals can be picked up after the race or requested for mailing for a fee.
The event supports Friends of Iowa CASA and ICFCRB, an organization that promotes volunteer advocacy for children who experience abuse and neglect. Awards are given to the top three male and female participants overall and in each age group. Age categories include 10 and under through 70 plus.
Headphones and personal audio devices are allowed though not recommended because participants must remain aware of course hazards. Dogs are not allowed.
