Ankeny Turkey Trot
Ankeny Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving 5K in Ankeny, Iowa on November 26, 2026. The race uses DMACC Ankeny Campus, 2006 S Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA 50023 for its start and finish area.
The event is chip timed and offers multiple fun run and kids categories. The published course time limit for the 5K is 1 hour 20 minutes. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall in the chip-timed category. Age divisions include 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19 and continue in five-year increments up to 70+.

Event logistics and amenities include runner gear choices (classic t-shirt or optional thin-tec polyester pullover), finish-line Donutland donuts, and water stations that provide water. There is no gear check. Strollers are allowed for walkers and joggers only and require a guardian waiver for children in strollers. Dogs are not permitted. Headphones and personal audio devices are allowed but are strongly not recommended. Packet pick-up details are posted in advance and picking up another participant’s packet requires that person’s signed waiver. Live participant tracking via RaceJoy is available and results and photos are posted after the event. The race supports Friends of Iowa CASA and ICFCRB.
