The Stuffed Turkey Endurance Races
The Stuffed Turkey Endurance Races take place at Jester Park Equestrian Center in Granger, Iowa. The 8th edition features fully trail courses with small rolling hills and a long flat section; conditions may vary with weather. The 50K, 50 Mile, and 100 Mile distances are UTMB index races.
Course details note 455 feet of elevation gain per loop, totaling 4,550 feet of ascent and descent over the 100 mile distance. Aid stations are located at mile 5 and at the mile 10 start/finish area. The event is cupless and will not supply paper cups at aid stations; participants are expected to bring personal cups, bottles, or hydration packs. Aid stations will provide basic items such as pizza, pop, rice and beans, potatoes, Gatorade, and GU, while personal nutrition is the responsibility of each participant.
Packet pickup is scheduled for the Thursday before the race at Fleet Feet Des Moines, 521 E Locust St, Des Moines, IA. Day of race entries are not accepted. Entries submitted after Nov. 1 were not guaranteed a shirt or swag; a shirt and medal are included for entrants who receive them. Registration closes Nov. 19 at 11:59 PM CT.
Pacing and assistance rules apply: 100 mile participants may pick up a pacer at the start of the sixth lap (mile 50); multiple pacers are allowed but each must complete a full 10 mile loop. Non-human assists such as dogs or bicycle pacers are prohibited except when approved case by case. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
