Event Details
The Blue Ridge Freedom 5K is a July 4th celebration run held on Saturday, July 4, 2026. There are two event options: a standard 5K run/walk and a Push Assist 5K. The race start and finish line is located at Blue Ridge Sip and Play on East Main Street in downtown Blue Ridge.
Registration and Packet Pickup
All registration is online and will be open through the morning of the race. There is no walk-up cash registration. Early packet pickup is available on July 3rd at Angry Hops Brewery. Race day packet pickup occurs at Blue Ridge Sip and Play. Participants can receive a complimentary beer sample at Angry Hops Brewing during the holiday week by showing their race bib.
Awards and Atmosphere
Awards are given for 1st through 3rd place in several categories, including overall male and female, masters, and five-year age group increments. There is also a "most spirited runner" award for creative red, white, and blue outfits. The event is open to walkers. Strollers and dogs are welcome but must start at the back of the pack. After the race, beverages will be available for purchase at Blue Ridge Sip and Play, and Angry Hops Brewing will be open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
