Blue Ridge Freedom 5K
The Blue Ridge Freedom 5K is a July 4th running event held in downtown Blue Ridge at Blue Ridge Sip and Play, 342 E Main St. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- Push Assist 5K
Registration is online and fees are listed at $30 for each event, with discount pricing for children under 10. Shirt sizes are limited; if a preferred size is not visible during registration that size is sold out. There is no walk-up cash registration.
Packet pickup is available July 3 from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm at Angry Hops Brewery, 341 East Main Street. Race day packet pickup is offered July 4 from 6:00 am to 7:15 am at Blue Ridge Sip and Play. Organizers recommend early pickup on July 3.
The course start and finish are located at Blue Ridge Sip and Play. Sip and Play will offer a doggie water station; strollers and dogs are welcome at the back of the pack. Runners may show their bib at Angry Hops during the holiday week for a complimentary beer sample. Angry Hops and Sip and Play will have beverage options available after the race.
Awards include most spirited runner for red, white and blue attire and placements for 1st through 3rd overall male and female, masters male and female, and age groups in five-year increments.
