About the race
The Bigfoot Boogie 5K is the fall event in the Riverwalk Run Series, held in McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee. The course is 3.1 miles long, all paved, mostly flat with one hill, and crosses the state line twice while running alongside the Toccoa River and through two downtown areas. Start and finish are at different locations and timing is recorded gun to chip under USATF Rule 245. The series includes three events across the year and awards a challenge item to participants who complete all three races.
The Bigfoot Boogie is offered as an in person 5K and as a virtual 5K. All three Riverwalk Run Series 5Ks are official qualifiers for the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race. Shirt and bib pickup is available at the McCaysville Visitor Center on the day of the event. Awards include overall female and male winners, age group awards (for example 0 to 9, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, and continuing by decade up to 80 and over), and medals for all finishers.
Event logistics note free parking across from McCaysville City Park, water at the finish, and that the event proceeds rain or shine. The race offers both in person and virtual registration options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
