2026 Twisted Tomato McCaysville Bigfoot Boogie 5K
The Bigfoot Boogie 5K is a twilight fall road race held in early November as part of the Riverwalk Run Series, a three-event, two state 5K series that also includes the Trout Trot 5K and the Walk the Line 5K. A challenge item is awarded to participants who complete all three events.
The course covers 3.1 miles on paved surfaces and is described as mostly flat with one hill. The route crosses the state line twice between McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee, follows the Toccoa River, and passes through two downtown areas. Start and finish locations are different and timing is based on gun to chip timing in accordance with USATF Rule 245. A virtual 5K option is offered.
Event logistics include shirt and bib pickup at the McCaysville Visitor Center and awards presented at McCaysville City Park. Awards are given to overall female and male finishers and across age groups from 0–9 through 80 and over. All finishers receive a medal. Additional notes mention free parking across from McCaysville City Park, water provided at the finish with a recommendation to bring personal water for use on course, and that the event proceeds rain or shine. The race is listed as an official Peachtree qualifier. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
