2026 Twisted Tomato McCaysville Bigfoot Boogie 5K
The Bigfoot Boogie 5K takes place in McCaysville, Georgia, and uses a scenic 3.1-mile route that crosses the Georgia-Tennessee state line twice between McCaysville and Copperhill. The course is fully paved, mostly flat with one hill, and follows the Toccoa River through two downtown areas. Start and finish are at different locations and timing is measured from gun to chip under USATF Rule 245.
The race is the fall event in the Riverwalk Run Series, a three-event 5K series that also includes the Trout Trot (spring) and Walk the Line (summer). Participants who complete all three events receive a special challenge item.
Event services and race details include packet pickup at the McCaysville Visitor Center, water provided at the finish, and free parking across from McCaysville City Park. The event offers both in-person and virtual 5K options. Awards are given to overall female and male finishers, age-group awards from 0–9 up to 80+, and all finishers receive a medal. The event is held rain or shine and is listed as a Peachtree qualifier. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
