2026 Twisted Tomato McCaysville Bigfoot Boogie 5K

The Bigfoot Boogie 5K is a fall running event held in the Appalachian region. It serves as the final installment of the Riverwalk Run Series, which also includes the Trout Trot 5K and Walk the Line 5K. The event takes place in a twilight setting in early November, featuring a mountain town atmosphere with views of the Toccoa River.

The course covers a distance of 3.1 miles (5K) and is entirely paved. The route is characterized as mostly flat with one hill. A notable feature of the course is that it crosses the state line between McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN twice, covering two states and crossing one steel bridge. The start and finish lines are at different locations.

The event is open to runners, walkers, and participants with strollers or dogs. Participants who complete all three 5K events in the Riverwalk Run Series are eligible for a challenge item. For those who cannot attend in person, a virtual version of the race is also available.

All finishers of the 5K receive a medal. Awards are presented for the overall first-place male and female finishers, as well as in various age groups ranging from 0–9 up to 80+. All three 5Ks in this series are Official Peachtree Qualifiers for the AJC Peachtree Road Race.
