Coyote Ugly 30k & 50k - Ellijay, GA

The Coyote Ugly event is a trail race in the Cohutta Wilderness that starts and finishes at Mulberry Gap Adventure Basecamp, 400 Mulberry Gap Road, Ellijay, GA. The event offers the following distances:

  • 30K
  • 50K

Course and aid stations

Both distances begin with almost 2 miles on gravel road, then a climb on Pinhoti 2 for about 4 miles to a gravel forest service road and the first aid station. After less than a mile on gravel, the route climbs Pinhoti 1 for almost 4 miles to the Bear Creek section. A 0.2-mile out-and-back reaches the next aid stop, followed by a climb to the top that crosses several creeks and has an aid station before the course split.

The 30K route descends on gravel back to Mulberry Gap, passing Bear Creek overlook and Barnes Creek Falls, with a total of approximately 19 miles and 2,900 feet of climbing. The 50K route descends 0.5 miles on gravel, returns to Bear Creek trail for a loop on rolling double track, passes the trail head aid station, then climbs back via Pinhoti 1 and Pinhoti 2 to Mulberry Gap for a total of 30 miles and 4,400 feet of climbing.
