The Mercier Orchards Spiked Apple 5k takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Mercier Orchards, 8660 Blue Ridge Drive, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. The event offers a 5K Run/Walk and a "Volunteer and Run" option. The 5K is open to ages 1 to 98. Registration prices listed include a standard 5K fee of $25 and a volunteer entry fee of $15; the 5K price increases after January 2, 2026. Volunteer registration closes March 21, 2026 and had limited spots remaining.
Course, timing and results
The course is a scenic tour of Mercier Orchards and uses a mix of roads and trails. The event is chip timed and scored by J3 Timing. Results will be posted online. Finish-line photos will be taken and uploaded for free download.
Registration, included items and rules
Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a bottle opener, a chip-timed race bib, a homemade cider donut, and a pour of cider. I.D. is required to receive 21+ beverages. Minors receive a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib but not a cider glass or pour. Strollers are permitted but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free without registration. Dogs are not allowed in U-Pick areas due to USDA regulations.
Packet pickup is scheduled on the Friday before the race at Mercier Orchards and race-day pickup is available. A virtual participation option and packet shipping are offered with an additional handling charge.
Awards
Top three male and female finishers in each age group will receive custom age group awards. Age groups are in 10-year bands beginning at 1-9 and extending to 80 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
