Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon and Fall 5K
The event on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in Bar Harbor, Maine, is organized by the Mount Desert Island YMCA as a fundraiser to support local programs and services. The schedule includes the following events:
- Half Marathon
- Fall 5K
- Half Marathon - Walker
The half marathon route uses hard-packed carriage roads built in 1913 and includes about nine miles on that system. The course is hilly, begins in the town of Bar Harbor, enters Acadia National Park, passes through dense forest, crosses several old granite bridges, and returns to town.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, with times to be announced. There is no race day packet pickup and packets are not mailed. Medals are awarded to all finishers. T-shirts are provided to all half marathon participants and to the first 50 registered 5K participants.
Because much of the course travels through Acadia National Park, the organizer follows an environmental approach to reduce waste. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable cups, handheld bottles, or hydration packs. Paper cups will still be available at six water stations during the event.
