Birmingham Running Festival
The Birmingham Running Festival takes place at Sutton Park in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. This event supports the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, an organization providing emergency medical services through helicopter-led interventions.
The event features several race distances held on a mix of road and gravel terrain:
- Half Marathon: A course with a total elevation gain of 306m.
- 10k: A route featuring 144m of elevation gain.
- 5k: A shorter distance with 72m of elevation gain.
- Junior Race: A dedicated run for younger participants with 14m of elevation gain.
Participants navigate routes that wind through the parkland, with each kilometre marked by distance flags. Marshals are stationed along the course to provide guidance to the finish line. The event infrastructure includes an event village with various food and drink options.
Each entry includes chip-timed results, free professional race photos, and a unique themed medal. Finishers also receive a selection of post-race goodies. While t-shirts are not included in the standard entry price to reduce overall costs and support sustainability efforts, event-specific apparel is available for purchase during the registration process.
