Shark Week Showdown 5K, 10K - Galveston, TX
Shark Week Showdown is organized by Bigfoot Running Company and takes place at Stewart Beach in Galveston, Texas on July 25, 2026. The event offers on site and virtual participation with multiple distances and family oriented options.
The event uses an ocean themed presentation with music at the start and finish lines, finisher medals for the 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K, a special Kids Dash medal, and race tees. Aid stations are available along the course. The 5K and 10K are chip timed and include age group awards and overall recognition; the 1 Mile and Kids Dash are not chip timed. A virtual run is offered at a separate distance.
Volunteer opportunities include a Volunteer Then Run option for the 5K that provides a chip timed bib, race tee, and finisher medal and is limited to the first ten sign ups. Full race volunteers receive a race shirt, VIP race access, and a choice of a free future race entry or a $20 prepaid digital gift card. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before race start and shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed at least ten days before race day.
