Run for a New Day - Galveston, TX
Run for a New Day is a fundraising 5K and a virtual 5K held in Galveston, Texas on September 12, 2026. The event raises awareness and funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and other mental health initiatives. Registration includes in-person and virtual options.
The in-person course starts and finishes at Galveston Island Brewing, 8423 Stewart Rd., Galveston, TX 77554. The mapped route goes west on Stewart Road, south on 85th, and west along the Seawall. A water stop is located at the turnaround. The course is on paved surfaces along the Seawall and is chip timed.
Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to age group places one through three in the following categories: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and up. Event amenities noted by the organizer include a custom event pint glass for everyone, a commemorative event t-shirt, two Galveston Island Brewery beers for participants aged 21 and over, free race photos online, and a post race party at the brewery.
