Event Details

The Big Cork Wine Run 5k is a timed 5k running and walking event. It takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Big Cork Vineyards in Rohrersville, Maryland.

Course Information

The course is a cross-country style route. It starts and finishes at the winery and includes a tour of the vineyards. The route consists of two laps. The terrain includes some uneven ground. Participants are asked to inform the timer if they choose to complete only one lap.

Registration & Participation

Registration includes a t-shirt, a shatterproof and collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a race bib for the chip-timed event, online results, and a pour of wine. There is a discounted registration rate for participants aged 1-20, which includes a shirt, medal, and bib but not the wine glass or wine pour. Minors are welcome to participate. Strollers are permitted but not recommended due to the uneven ground; children in strollers can participate for free. Only service dogs are allowed.

The event is professionally timed and scored by J3 Timing. Results are posted online at J3Timing.com. The event offers age group awards for the top three finishers in each category. Awards are available for pickup at the registration table one hour after the start.

Additional Options

A separate "Volunteer and Run" event is available. Virtual participation is also an option, where registrants can either pick up their race packet and run on their own or transfer to a virtual event and have their packet shipped for an additional fee. Packet pickup is on race day only, starting one hour before the event begins. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
