Event overview
The Big Cork Wine Run is a chip-timed 5k run/walk held at Big Cork Vineyards, 4236 Main Street, Rohrersville, MD. The course starts and finishes at the winery and includes a tour of the vineyards. It is a cross country style course with some uneven terrain and is run as two laps; participants should inform the timer if they choose to complete only one lap. Results are posted online by J3 Timing.
Logistics and entry details
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip-timed race bib, and a pour of wine (minors do not receive the wine glass or wine pour). Packet pick-up is on race morning only, beginning one hour before the race. Age group awards are offered for ten-year categories covering under 10 through 80 and over, with custom awards for the top three finishers in each category; winners must pick up awards on race day. Virtual participation is available, either by picking up a packet and running independently or by switching to a shipped virtual entry for an additional shipping and handling charge. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers may participate for free without registering. Only service dogs are permitted on site.
