Beer City Half Series
The Beer City Half is a series of running events held in various locations across California. The series integrates competitive racing with social activities centered around beer and community. Participants can compete in individual races or join the overall point challenge, known as the race for the Golden Growler, which concludes with the Race of Champions at Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.
Each event in the series typically offers the following distances:
- Half-Marathon (21.1 km)
- 10k
- 5k
- The Beer Stroll (non-competitive walking option)
- Beat the Beast Beer Mile (requires participants to consume four drinks while racing)
Events take place in multiple cities including Alameda, San Ramon, Long Beach, Santa Ana, Fremont, Sacramento, San Jose, San Diego, and Santa Rosa. The series provides specialized scoring for age group categories, with awards and entries for top performers.
Bundle options are available for those participating in multiple events, including "The Day Drinker" (three races), "The Growler" (four races), and "The Keg" (five or more races).
