Beer City 20k Relay & 5k : Asheville, NC
The Beer City Relay takes place at New Belgium Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday, May 29, 2027. The event uses a single 5k out and back loop along the West River Arts District Greenway with a water stop at the turnaround near the edge of French Broad River Park. The starting line and relay exchange are at New Belgium Brewing, 21 Craven Street, Asheville.
Race formats and distances:
- 5k out and back loop
- 10k single runners or two-person teams run the loop twice
- 20k relay teams of four each run the 5k loop once
Teams and individual entries are permitted. Teams of four each complete one 5k leg; teams of two each complete two 5k legs. Single runners may run the 5k once or twice.
Safety and course rules note that dogs and other animals are not allowed to run with participants; approved service animals require prior approval and supporting documentation submitted more than five days before the event. Strollers are allowed but should start near the back and keep to the right on the greenway.
Event fees include a race t-shirt, finisher medal for every runner, a beer or nonalcoholic option for participants 21 and older, chip timing, and a donation to Consider Haiti. A portion of each entry fee, $2, will be donated to Consider Haiti. There are no age group awards; fastest teams and top 5k and 10k finishers receive gift certificates.
