Course and logistics
The course uses dirt and rocky single-track trails in Cameron Park and is described as hilly, with about 1,200 ft of elevation gain per 10-mile loop. Aid stations are located on the loop (main aid at mile 0 and mile 10; Rinky Dinky at mile 5.5; Emmons at miles 3.1, 7.5 and 8). Aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice; separate water-only stations are also listed. No disposable cups are provided, so participants must carry their own water system. No drop bags will be shipped because of the short loop.
Ruck entries have weight requirements: 30 lb for participants over 150 lb and 20 lb for participants under 150 lb; ruck sacks or vests are allowed. Only one pacer per runner is permitted and only in the last half of the 50K and 50M races. Parking near the start/finish fills up quickly; there are additional nearby parking lots. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
