Event Details
The Beast of The Brazos Trail Run takes place in Cameron Park in Waco, Texas, in April. It is part of the Texas Legends Series.
The course uses dirt and rocky single-track trails within Cameron Park. The elevation is described as hilly, with approximately 1,200 feet of elevation gain on the 10-mile loop. The historic average weather for this time is between 54 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit.
Aid stations offer hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. Specific aid station locations are: the Main Aid Station (mile 0 and 10), Rinky Dinky Aid Station (mile 5.5), and Emmons Water Station (mile 3.1, 7.5, and 8). The event is a no-cup race, meaning all participants except 5K runners must carry a water-carrying system with a minimum capacity of 16 ounces.
Participants in the 50K and 50-mile distances are required to carry a headlamp when it is dark outside. For the RUCK option, participants must carry a weight: 30 pounds for those over 150 lbs, or 20 pounds for those under 150 lbs.
Awards and participant items include a collectible finisher medal and a tri-blend T-shirt for all distances. First-place male and female trophies are awarded for all distances. Additional items include a patch for 10-mile RUCK finishers and a buckle for 50-mile finishers.
