Event Overview
The Bearathon/Sic 'Em 6k Event takes place in Waco, Texas. The event is organized by the Baylor University Student Foundation to raise money for student scholarships. In the previous year, the event contributed over $62,000 to these scholarships. The event is open to the public and had nearly 2,000 registered runners from across Texas and around the country.
Distances and Course
The event features two race distances.
- The Bearathon is a half marathon (21.1 km). The course runs through Baylor University's campus, including Fountain Mall, along the Brazos River, and through the hills of Cameron Park. It finishes at McLane Stadium.
- The Sic 'Em 6K (6 km) starts and ends at the same location as the Bearathon. It takes runners on a scenic tour of the Baylor University campus.
Venue and Logistics
Both races start and finish at McLane Stadium, located at 1001 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Waco. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event at the McLane Stadium Ticket Office, and also on the morning of the event.
