Event overview
The Down 'n Dirty Trail Run takes place on April 4, 2026 in Waco, TX. The event includes two course options:
- 3K Trail Hike
- 8K Trail Run
Each course runs on trails through the rolling hills of Cameron Park. Named trail segments include Powerline, Slinky, Mix Master, and Vortex.
Registration and fees
Registration fees listed are $35 for the 3K and $40 for the 8K. Prices increase after March 8, 2026. T-shirt availability is guaranteed for registrants who sign up by March 23, 2026; after that shirts are provided while supplies last. A referral reward offers a $25 refund after three referred friends complete registration; the refund is credited after the third registration.
Logistics
All athletes must wear a race bib to participate. Race bibs and t-shirts are distributed at packet pickup. Early packet pickup is at Waco Running Company, 700 Franklin Ave, Waco, TX on April 3, 2026. Race day packet pickup is at the Northern Gateway Pavilion in Cameron Park on April 4, 2026. Dogs and baby joggers are not allowed on the course for safety reasons.
Awards and series
All finishers receive a Huaco Cuatro Trail Run Series finisher medal. The 3K is a fun fitness event with no age group awards. The 8K awards 1st overall male and female and 1st through 3rd place male and female in each 10-year age group. The event is the second race in the Huaco Cuatro Trail Run Series, which comprises four trail races in the Waco area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
