Be The Light 5K - Valencia, CA
Be The Light 5K is an annual night run and walk held in Valencia, California. The event is based at West Creek Park and uses the San Francisquito Creek Trail paseos. A portion of entry proceeds is donated to A Light of Hope to support youths in recovery.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K loop on the San Francisquito Creek Trail
- 10K two laps of the same loop
The course is a loop that starts at the paseo entrance from West Creek Park, follows the San Francisquito Creek Trail down to Decoro Drive and up to Copper Hill Drive before returning to the finish. Organizers provide one aid station at the halfway point with water and electrolytes. The finish area is decorated with light arches and other illuminated elements.
Participants are encouraged to wear lights such as glow bands, light wands, headlamps, and LED accessories to create an illuminated atmosphere along the trail. Event features listed by the organizer include a finisher medal, official race shirt, finisher certificate, free race photos, chip-timed results, awards for top finishers, volunteer support, finish line water and food, and event insurance.
