Return Ticket routes are almost entirely tarmac, Hilly Ticket routes mix tarmac, woodland trail and stone paths, and City Ticket routes use tarmac, canal towpath and river path. The 5 km, Return Ticket 10 km, Return Ticket half marathon, 50 km and 5 x 10 km relay are officially measured. There is a 3 hour cut off to start lap 2 of the marathon and an 8.5 hour cut off for the 50 km; other distances have no formal cut offs but pure walkers are not permitted.

On-site facilities include toilets, coffee and food vans and a bag drop; there are no changing rooms. There is no on-site parking; attendees are directed to Odd Down Park & Ride with a shuttle bus. Bike racking is provided; bring a lock. The nearest stations are Oldfield Park (about 800 m) and Bath Spa (about 2 miles). Drinks and food stations vary by distance: none on the 5 km, one on the 10 km, three to five on the half marathon, and nine on the marathon and 50 km. Runners of 5 km and longer receive a 10 cm x 10 cm two-sided medal. Prize awards by age and gender are specified and depend on numbers of finishers.
