The Bath Beat
The Bath Beat is a walking and running event that starts on the southeastern edge of Bath and follows public footpaths into countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds. The routes pass through farmland, along a historic disused canal, ancient woodland, river valleys and a number of scenic viewpoints.
The event offers multiple route lengths:
- 12.5 miles
- 17 miles
- 21 miles
- 26.5 miles
Checkpoints are staffed and provide food and drink, including homemade cakes and sandwiches. The longest route, 26.5 miles, passes through several villages such as Bathford, Avoncliffe, Hinton Charterhouse, Norton St Philip, Wellow and Combe Hay, and returns to Bath via the Somerset Coal Canal and the village of Midford.
Entry includes fully supported checkpoints with food and drink, a finisher’s medal for those who complete their chosen route, recovery support for participants unable to finish under their own steam, and a finish area with additional food and refreshments. The event is scheduled to return on Saturday 24 April 2027, with bookings opening in January 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
