Event Overview
The second annual Awaken Outreach 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk takes place in Port Charlotte, Florida. This timed event starts and ends at the Awaken Church. Proceeds from the registration fees support local outreach services, including a food pantry, community health days, disaster relief, and seasonal holiday assistance programs.
Course Details
The course follows well marked county streets. The terrain is described as very flat, making it accessible for a variety of participants. For the 5k, participants receive a chipped bib for timing and a finishers medal. Food and snacks are provided for all participants following the completion of the events.

Recognition and Awards
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in five year age increments, ranging from under 8 to over 80. Custom awards are also provided for Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior Grand Masters, and Veterans categories. A specific trophy is awarded to the church group with the highest number of participants.
Participant Information
Registered participants receive a commemorative t-shirt while supplies last, with a specific inventory cutoff date. On-site parking is available at the church location. All registration fees are considered donations to the outreach center and are non-refundable. Events begin with the runners, followed by walkers.
