Event overview

The Apple Blossom races take place in Winchester, Virginia, during the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival weekend. The main road race is the Valley Health 10K, held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, on a USATF certified course through downtown Winchester. A separate Kids' Bloomin' Mile for ages 6-14 is scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2026, around John Handley High School. Packet pickup and registration are available on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1, with additional race-day pickup for the 10K and the kids race at the north side of the Handley Bowl.

The 10K uses chip timing provided by Racine MultiSports and has a 1 hour 30 minute time limit. Split times are provided at 1 mile, 3.1 mile (5K), and 5 mile. Multiple aid and water stations are available along the course. No bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, strollers or animals are allowed on the race course. Awards are given overall and by age group; race participants receive a T-shirt and a finisher medal. The Kids' Bloomin' Mile has age divisions 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-14, with awards for the top three males and females in each division and age-group winners participating in the festival Grand Feature Parade.
