Apple Blossom Valley Health 10K and Shenandoah Valley Orthodontics Kids' Bloomin' Mile
The event takes place May 1 to May 2, 2026 in Winchester, Virginia, at 425 Handley Blvd and the Handley High School area. It comprises youth mile races on the first day and a 10K on the second day. The 10K course passes through downtown Winchester and covers historic parts of the Apple Blossom Parade route. The 10K course is USATF certified.
Distances and age ranges:
- 6 to 7 Kids' Mile (ages 6 to 7)
- 8 to 9 Kids' Mile (ages 8 to 9)
- 10 to 11 Kids' Mile (ages 10 to 11)
- 12 to 14 Kids' Mile (ages 12 to 14)
- 10K (open to ages 10 to 110)
Packet pickup is at Handley High School in a tent on the grass between Handley Blvd and the Handley Bowl. Kids packet pickup dates include April 30 and May 1. 10K packet pickup includes April 30, May 1, and May 2.
Awards and event rules are specified for each race. All young finishers receive medals and age group awards. Age group winners in the kids mile are invited to ride in the Apple Blossom Grand Feature Parade. The 10K offers overall, masters, grand masters and age group awards and serves as the RRCA Virginia State 10K Championship with RRCA awards for multiple age categories. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, strollers and animals are not allowed on the race course.
For safety, runners in the youngest kids group are directed into a finishing corral and must be picked up by a parent or guardian before leaving. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
