SVR Winter Series
The SVR Winter Series is an eight-race, in-person running series held across multiple venues in the Shenandoah Valley region between December and March. The series includes a mix of road, gravel, trail, and mixed-surface loop courses and is managed entirely by club volunteers.
Distances in the series include:
- 5K
- 1 mile
- 4 miles
Registration options are offered for the full series and for single races. Full series pricing and concessions for students, seniors, and families are specified by the organizer. Full-series registration is available only through the club's registration system and is restricted to active club members; eligibility for series awards requires a club membership established by the stated cutoff date.
Timing and race equipment vary by event. Race one uses numbered bibs; races two through eight use assigned shoe timing chips that are reused by the club and may incur a replacement fee if lost. Individual race entrants receive a numbered bib on race day.
Scoring is based on accumulated points from a runner's best finishes, with a maximum count of top results used for final standings. Awards are presented for overall and age-group standings and at the club banquet. The organizer may cancel or reschedule events for safety or operational reasons and will adjust series scoring rules if races are canceled.
