SVR Winter Series

The SVR Winter Series is an eight-race in-person series held in the Winchester area from December 6, 2026 through March 6, 2027. Events are managed entirely by volunteers and take place on a mix of road, gravel, farm, trail, and track courses at local venues including Musselman High School, Blandy Experimental Farm, West Oaks Farm Market, the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Third Winchester Battlefield (canceled), Middletown, Summit Point Motorsports Park, and Strasburg High School.

Full series registration is available only through RunSignup and only to active club members. Full series pricing is listed as Individuals $60, Students and seniors $40, and Family (up to four) $140. Winter Series participants who register for the full series receive an SVR knit beanie in one of four styles; swag is guaranteed for the first 800 full-series check-ins. Individual races do not include shirts.

Timing and scoring use a series system: race one uses a numbered bib, races two through eight use an assigned shoe timing chip that should be returned at series end; lost chips can be replaced for $20. Series scoring awards up to 500 points per race per category, counts the best six finishes for a maximum 3000 points, and requires at least five completed races for award eligibility, with adjusted rules if races are canceled. Awards include overall and age-group placings; a Perfect Attendance award is given to members who attend all scheduled events. Awards are presented at the SVR Banquet on April 11, 2026 at Millwood Station Banquet Hall.

Inclement weather protocols note that winter conditions are possible; the Race Director may cancel events and SVR will communicate status via Facebook and email. Several races include community elements such as charity fundraising, shoe collection drives, pet adoption partnerships, a brunch option at West Oaks, and a food and toiletries outreach at the Ram Run.
