ANE Mile : event description
The ANE Mile takes place on Sunday, May 24 and features two one-mile races run on a completely closed course on The Boulevard beside Quidi Vidi. The start is near the Bandstand and the finish is just past the bridge at the bottom of Quidi Vidi Lake. Runners depart in waves according to pace or grade.
The event includes:
- School Mile - Grades 4 and up
- Open Mile - general participation
Chip timing is used for race results. The School Mile provides finisher medals and grab bags; the Open Mile offers age-group awards. Registration closes May 21. Entry fees are $5 plus HST for the School Mile and $10 plus HST for the Open Mile. A NLAA competitive membership, a day permit, or school registration is required; students from schools registered with NLAA do not need a day permit, otherwise a day permit costs $1.
Bib pickup is scheduled for Saturday, May 23 from 1 PM to 3 PM. At kit pickup, participants can bring pull tabs from drink cans and used sneakers for collection in partnership with Riverside Therapeutics, 26 Waterfordbridge Road. The event is hosted by Athletics NorthEAST Running Club, is NLAA accredited, and the course is certified NL-2025-009-PTBA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
