The Paradise Five and Dime offers two road races, a 5K and a 10K, on the same Sunday in June. Take on the challenge of running both events back-to-back. The race is chip-timed with cash prizes for winners.

Race Information

The Paradise Five and Dime road race is organized by the Paradise Running Club. It takes place on a Sunday in June in Paradise.

The Events

The competition features two separate races on the same day:

  • The Five: a 5 km race.
  • The Dime: a 10 km race.

Participants can enter one race or take on the "Banished Brewing Challenge" by completing both back-to-back.

Start Times & Time Limits

The 5 km race starts in the morning. For Challenge participants, there is a 45-minute time limit (9:00/km pace). For 5K-only participants, the limit is 55 minutes (11:00/km). The 10 km race starts one hour after the 5K start, with a 100-minute time limit (10:00/km).

Registration & Pricing

There is no registration cap. Early bird registration offers a discount. Standard pricing is $30 for a single race (Five or Dime) and $45 for the Challenge (both races), plus provincial athletics association (NLAA) and processing fees. An option to decline a finisher's medal for a discount is available. Paradise Running Club members receive a 15% discount on the entry fee.

Bib Pickup & Reception

Bib pickup is held the day before at Banished Brewing, 9 Maverick Place, Paradise. A post-race reception and awards ceremony takes place on race day at the same location.

Awards & Prizes

Finisher medals are available depending on the registration option selected. Cash prizes are awarded to the male and female winners of each race and the Challenge. Bonus cash prizes are offered for new course records. Placement medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race. Many prize draws for brewery products are held at the reception.

Additional Information

The event is chip-timed and part of a provincial road running series. As per accredited road race policy, headphones or earbuds are not permitted for safety reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
