Paradise Backyard Ultra - May 22, 2026
The Paradise Backyard Ultra takes place at Paradise Park in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador. The 2026 edition is labeled the "Silver Coin" edition and is scheduled for May 22, 2026. Organizers have expanded the field size to 200 participants.
The event operates as a non profit. Registration fees are kept low to cover basic race costs such as race insurance, bibs, timing, first aid and security. Merchandise sales support the East Coast Trail Association and a charity chosen by the Town of Paradise.
Made-to-order event apparel is offered, including t-shirts and hats. For t-shirts, adding a name on the back is available at no extra charge. Orders are placed periodically as minimum quantities are reached; orders placed by March 31 are intended to be available for race day.
Organizers announced partial refunds of $60 for registrants who cannot run; these refunds are available during the month of January.
At the inaugural Backyard Ultra in 2024, 134 people started and the event winner completed 31 laps. Several participants recorded distances exceeding 100 kilometers and some exceeded 200 kilometers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
