Paradise Backyard Ultra - Silver Coin edition
The Paradise Backyard Ultra takes place at Paradise Park in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, and is scheduled for May 22, 2026. Organizers have increased the event field size to 200 participants for this edition.
The race follows the backyard ultra format. In the inaugural 2024 event, 134 people started and the event reached 31 laps. Published results show 16 runners completed more than 100 km, 4 runners reached at least 100 miles, and 2 runners exceeded 200 km.
Made-to-order merchandise is offered, including t-shirts and hats; participants could add a name to the back of t-shirts at no extra charge. Orders are placed in multiple batches and a pre-race ordering deadline was indicated to allow delivery in time for the event.
The event operates as a non-profit and directs proceeds to the East Coast Trail Association and a charity selected by the Town of Paradise. For the 2026 edition, the winner will have the opportunity to represent Canada at the national championships in British Columbia in October 2026.
