An Res Hellys is a 10 mile multi-terrain run that starts and finishes in Helston. The route passes through the National Trust Penrose Estate. The event is part of the Cornwall Grand Prix Road Racing Series. The Race HQ is at the Old Cattle Market, Helston, TR13 0SR. Minimum entry age is 17 or older. Entry fees are listed as £18.00 for ARC/UKA affiliated runners and £20.00 for non-affiliated runners. Entries open 23 November 2025 and close 6 March 2026. The event notes that the first 400 entries will be guaranteed an event medal.

Logistics and race rules

Registration is at the Old Cattle Market and runs from 8.15am to 9.30am; pre-entries must collect their race number on the day and numbers must not be folded, cut or mutilated. There is no official baggage storage; bags may be left in the hall at the owner’s risk. Parking is limited; free parking is available at the Fairground Car Park about 400 m from Race HQ, with a small number of spaces at Castle Green and Tyacke Road Council car parks and some on-road parking near the boating lake. The Old Cattle Market private car park is for race officials only. The race is chip timed; placings use gun to chip time, timing chips are worn on the ankle and must be returned. Toilets are available; there are no changing rooms or showers. Food and extra toilets are available at the Lakeside Café. MP3 players and personal audio devices are banned and may lead to disqualification. Dogs, wheelchairs, wheeled carriages and cycles are not permitted.
