Always Ready 5K
The Always Ready 5K takes place in Cape May, New Jersey, on October 10, 2026. The event is based at Harborview Park and uses a course that passes Fishermans Memorial and the US Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. Course details are subject to change.

- Virtual 5K
- 3K Always Ready K9 run/walk
- Virtual K9 Run
The 3K K9 option is open to dogs accompanied by human guides. Dogs must be leashed on a lead no longer than 6 feet and must remain calm for the duration of the event. K9 runners follow the same route as the 5K until the entrance to the base, where they turn near the gate and return to Harborview Park.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, and ten-year age groups up to 60+. Race shirts are guaranteed for those registered by September 30; supplies are limited after that date. All finishers receive a commemorative Always Ready Challenge Coin. K9 finishers receive a Lead the Way K9 Champion Medal and an Always Ready K9 dog pin. Virtual participants have the month of October to complete their run and receive the same event swag; virtual packets are mailed after the in-person race on October 11.
