Always Ready 5K
Always Ready 5K takes place on 10/10/2026 at Harborview Park in Cape May, New Jersey. The event includes in-person and virtual options and offers separate running and K9 categories.

- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 3K K9 run/walk
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and in age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, and 10-year age groups up to 60+. Race shirts are guaranteed for those registered by September 30; supply is limited after that. All finishers receive a commemorative Always Ready Challenge Coin.
The K9 race is open to dogs accompanied by handlers. Dogs must be leashed on no longer than a 6 ft lead and able to remain calm for the duration of the event. K9 finishers receive a Lead the Way K9 Champion Medal and an Always Ready K9 dog pin. The K9 race is presented with the partner Lead the Way Dog Training.
Virtual 5K and virtual K9 participants have the entire month of October to complete their best time and receive the same swag as the corresponding live event. Virtual packets will not be mailed until after the in-person race on 10/11. Registration opens Feb 28, 2026; deadlines and fees vary by event.
