6TH ANNUAL DARBY DASH 5K RUN/WALK
The event is a 5k run or walk presented by Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc. It benefits Humane Animal Partners, formerly DHA. The format was changed to a virtual event and can be completed at any location chosen by the participant.
Event materials and participant amenities include a short sleeved shirt for all participants and post-race awards when held in the park. Timing is managed by Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc. using Chronotrack B chips. The race awards overall and master male and female champions, plus top three finishers in the following 5K age groups: 9U, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
When conducted in person the course is described as 3.1 miles, flat and fast at Cape Henlopen State Park, starting at the north side of the bathhouse parking lot, following the bike trail through Ft Miles to the rear of the campground with a turnaround at the Dune Tower. Water is available at Ft Miles.
Registration options include online registration through RunSignUp and a mail-in paper registration form to guarantee race swag. The organizer maintains a no refund policy but offers options such as transferring the entry to a future event, donating the fee to the event charity, or deferring the entry to the following year.
