15th Annual Dewey Goes Pink : Dewey Beach, DE
Dewey Goes Pink is an annual benefit for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition held at The Starboard in Dewey Beach, Delaware. The 2026 edition is the 15th running of the event and is also called the "Gugie" Run. The event supports fundraising through participant registration, team fundraising, an online silent auction, and a raffle for a Blaupunkt Fiene electric bicycle.
The event program includes a timed 5K road race that measures 3.24 miles due to a moved finish line, and an untimed 1.5 mile fun walk. Each registration package includes a collectible T-shirt and a post-race party pass; a guest pass for the post-race party is also available. The event notes that, due to popularity, there are no refunds. Race packet pickup is located at The Starboard under the Saulsbury Street tents and is organized by bib number; late packet pickup is available at the registration tent.
Race-day amenities and services include at least one water stop on each course, porta-potties near Saulsbury and Bayard, and free parking in Dewey Beach. Food and beverage offerings list a complimentary buffet and pizza for participants and post-party wristband holders, beer samples from local brewers, and on-site ice cream for purchase. Awards include medals for top finishers, five-year age-group medals from 9 and under to 80 and over, and gift certificates for overall and masters winners.
