Lace Up for Ag Literacy 5K Run/Walk
The Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation hosts a farm-based running and walking event at Hopkins Farm Creamery in Lewes, Delaware on October 10, 2026. The course is off-road and passes through pastures, hay bales, a barn, a covered bridge, and around a pond, with start and finish at the Hopkins Ice Cream location. The event uses chip timing.
Distances and entry types:
- 3.1 miles : run or walk
- 3.11 miles : walk only
- 3.11 miles : Silent Support entry
Registration fees are tiered: $30 through October 4, 2026, and $35 after that date and on event day. A free Kiddie K is offered for children 10 and under. Teams can register; the team with the most participants receives a $200 gift certificate to the National Ag in the Classroom store to donate to a school or youth organization. A Silent Hero option is available for supporters who cannot participate.
Awards include unique overall male, female, and masters prizes; top three male and female finishers in 10-year age groups from 10 & under through 70 & over; top five male and female 5K walk finishers; and awards for all Kiddie K finishers. All participants receive a long sleeve event shirt. Proceeds support agricultural education programs, promotion of local food, and the Ag Education Mobile Classroom.
