ALS Ride for Life - Run for a local person with ALS
This community running event is organized in support of a local person living with ALS and a medical trust fund to assist with long-term care costs. The event is held at Ronkonkoma Middle School in Ronkonkoma, New York, and includes both a 5K and a 1 Mile course.

Registration is not yet open. Event amenities listed by the organizer include guaranteed shirts for those registered before August 1, medals for the first 100 finishers, live and electronic results, free finish-line photos, and a personalized bib for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance. Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup and can be retrieved via self-lookup options. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours may receive their bib number by text.
Awards are planned for the top three overall in each category and for division winners by age group across standard competitive age brackets. The event is associated with a 501(c) charity dedicated to serving the ALS community, raising funds for research and direct support; the charity has provided mobility assistance to individuals in need.
