Great South Bay 5K Turkey Trot
The Great South Bay 5K Turkey Trot Sponsored by Islip Fire Department is scheduled for November 26, 2026 in Islip, New York at South Bay and Main Street. The event is a 5K run/walk and proceeds benefit the Islip Fire Department.
The course starts at Richardson Lane and South Bay Avenue, runs south on South Bay to the beach, turns around the parking lot grass island, returns north on South Bay, turns left on Maple Avenue, then right on Monell Avenue and finishes at the Islip Fire Department.
Parking is free and available in multiple town lots and along Main Street, including Islip Town Hall and public lots near Main Street and Smith Avenue. Event materials note that participants are encouraged to car pool.
Bibs may be picked up early at the Islip Fire Department, 28 Monell Avenue, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Race day pickup is available at the northeast corner of South Bay Avenue and Main Street; a bib number is required for pickup. Personalized bibs are offered for registrations completed three weeks before the event.
Additional event details include live/text/email results, free finish-line photos, a 50/50 raffle with $5 tickets, online recognition for top overall and age-group finishers, and medals for the first 800 finishers.
