About the race
The event is a 12 hour trail run held at Prince William Forest Park near Triangle, Virginia. The course is a 6.5 mile looped figure eight on 100% trails, mixing single track and fire road. The loop has an approximate elevation gain and loss of 650 feet per loop. Terrain includes rocks, roots and dirt, and it may become muddy if it rains. Two aid stations are available: the primary aid station at the Start/Finish offers a variety of food, and a second station provides water only. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and a post-race meal for participants and crews.
The field is limited to 100 runners. The event has been run in previous years as part of a series; in the first 17 runnings participants logged over 30,000 miles on Prince William Forest Park trails. Formats listed for this event include:
- 30 km
- 12 hour
- 2 person relay
