9/11 Heroes Run - Quantico, Virginia
The 9/11 Heroes Run is a community event held at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, Virginia. This event honors the heroes of September 11, 2001, and those who have served the nation in the years since. It is designed to unite local communities while supporting veterans, active duty military members, first responders, and the families of the fallen.
The event features several participation options for runners, ruckers, and walkers of various fitness levels:
- 5K Run (Individual and Active Duty/First Responder divisions)
- 5K Ruck (Individual and Active Duty/First Responder divisions)
The rucking division is held in partnership with GORUCK. Rucking is a discipline derived from special forces training where participants complete the course while carrying a weighted rucksack. Participants registered specifically for the GORUCK division receive an exclusive patch.
The 5K run is open to the general public as well as dedicated categories for active duty military and first responders. The event provides an opportunity for different generations to commemorate the significance of the day through physical activity and community gathering.
