Event overview
The 5K/8K Superhero Run is a community running event held on February 14, 2026, at 156 Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park, Florida. The event offers three distances:
- 5K
- 8K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K and 8K use a certified course that follows River Road along the St. Johns River. The start area is at the corner of Kingsley Avenue and Reed Street and the finish is on Reed Street. Runners follow the course out along the river and return on the opposite side of the road to the finish.
Course, awards and options
Finisher medals are provided for all 5K and 8K finishers. The 8K has an awards ceremony with categories that include top three men and women overall, the first masters male and female overall, and top three in multiple age groups from 10 & under through 80+. The 1 Mile Fun Run gives medals to children 13 and under. A virtual participation option is available; virtual registrants can pick up race shirts and medals during packet pickup and submit their results to the organizer.
Logistics and rules
Registration is available online, at 1st Place Sports stores, or on race day. Packet pickup locations include Grace Episcopal Day School and the 1st Place Sports Baymeadows store; remaining packets will be available at the race site on race day. Parking is available in surrounding shopping centers and at the Moosehaven Retirement Community. Bikes and dogs are not allowed on the course. Refunds and transfers are not permitted.
