Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic
The Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic is a Thanksgiving morning road race held in Jacksonville, Florida, at Pickwick Plaza. The event for 2026 offers these distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- One mile Turkey Trot
The race began in 1984 with 500 half marathon runners and by 2026 reached its 43rd running. The original course started at Flynn Park and finished at Pickwick Park Shopping Center, which remains the finish location.
Proceeds support the Mandarin Food Bank and will help fund a three mile running and walking path at Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road. A portion of each entry includes a one dollar donation to the Mandarin Food Bank, and participants may bring canned goods at packet pickup.
Race swag includes a long sleeve moisture wicking shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib and a goodie bag. All finishers in the Half Marathon, 5K and one mile receive a finisher medal. The Half Marathon awards cash prizes for top finishers and plaques for age group place winners. The 5K has age group awards across multiple categories.
Course features include digital clocks at each mile and the finish, clearly marked miles and turns, traffic control by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, and a 3.5 hour course limit.
