Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic
The Community First Thanksgiving Distance Classic is a road race held in Jacksonville, Florida at Pickwick Plaza, 9850 San Jose Blvd, on Thursday, November 26, 2026. The event includes multiple distances and serves as a fundraiser for local projects.
Distances
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- One mile Turkey Trot
This edition is the 43rd running. The event began in 1984 with 500 finishers in the half marathon; that first year was point to point, starting at Flynn Park and finishing at Pickwick Park Shopping Center, which remains the finish location. The race draws over 4,000 participants and donates a portion of each entry to the Mandarin Food Bank. Proceeds also help build and maintain a new three-mile running and walking path in Aterro Recreation Park on Sunbeam Road. Title sponsor support includes use of Pickwick Plaza for the start and finish.
Race swag includes a long-sleeve moisture wicking shirt, a finisher medal, a race bib, and a goodie bag similar to prior years. Packets are available for pickup at selected 1st Place Sports stores on the days before the race. Event communications and runner instructions are sent by email from 1st Place Sports.
Course details note digital clocks at each mile and the finish, clearly marked miles and turns, traffic control by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office with traffic present on the course, and a 3.5 hour course limit. All finishers receive a medal; the half marathon awards cash prizes for top finishers and age group plaques, and the 5K includes age group awards. Food and drink are served near the finish line at Pickwick Plaza. The race is part of the 2026-2027 Jacksonville Grand Prix series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
