12Ks of Christmas : Fort Worth, TX
The 12Ks of Christmas is an urban trail race held on the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth, Texas, offering two distances:
- 6k
- 12k
The course is non-technical, flat and paved, and runs through wooded areas with scenic views of the lake. The route is marked with in-ground flagging, directional signage, hanging flags and cones. Aid stations appear approximately every 2 miles; most are staffed by volunteers and provide basic first aid supplies, electrolytes including Crazy Water, and a variety of snacks. The event operates as a cupless race so participants should bring refillable water bottles to use at aid stations.
The start and finish are located at the Woodshed Smokehouse, which also serves as the post-race gathering place on its patio. Registrants with a valid bib receive a hot chocolate with a peppermint stick. Participants are encouraged to wear festive holiday outfits or Christmas sweaters. All finishers receive a custom medal and first place male and female finishers in each distance receive awards. Live results are posted during the race.
Packet pick-up locations include the Homewood Suites and the Woodshed Smokehouse. Volunteer roles and multiple sponsorship packages are available. The event will resume in December TBD, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
