10Forty : 4 miles x 10 heats
10Forty is a timed endurance event held December 5, 2026 at YWAM Lancaster in Ephrata, PA. The format covers 40 miles as ten consecutive hourly laps of a 4-mile loop. Entrants may compete solo or as a two-person relay; solo runners complete all four-mile laps, while relay team members each run roughly two miles per hour in alternate segments. Participants must finish each lap within the hour to continue; failure to complete a lap before the next heat ends that participant's race. Competitors who complete the first nine laps within the cutoffs are eligible to run the tenth lap, and awards are determined from that final lap.
The course is a well-maintained, non-technical trail described as fairly flat. Registration is indoors and a limited number of indoor aid spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Amenities include heated bathrooms, an outdoor aid area with fruit, broth, and instant ramen, hot drinks and water at the end of each lap, space for personal supplies, and food trucks on site. Shirts are short sleeve; early registrants are guaranteed a shirt. The event runs in all weather; there are no refunds, and smoking, alcohol, and dogs are not permitted. The final lap is expected to be cold and dark, so a headlamp is advised.
Entry fees vary by registration period. The event raises funds for Bible translation efforts in regions between 10° N and 40° N latitude. Every runner who completes the full 40 miles receives a finisher's award. Solo and relay categories receive additional awards by overall and age groups.
