Waugoshance Trail Run
The Waugoshance Trail Run is a point to point trail race in Emmet County, Michigan on a section of the North Country Trail between Cross Village and Mackinaw City. The route is more than 90% single track and passes rolling bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, coastal forests, and several inland wilderness lakes. The 50K route includes an additional five mile section on the Sturgeon Bay Trail. The half marathon begins near Goose Pond in Wilderness State Park and follows the final portion of the longer courses into Mackinaw City.

The finish area is at the Mackinaw City School athletic grounds. The course is marked with flags, ribbons, and directional signs. Runners are transported by bus to the start from Mackinaw City School. Drop bag policy varies by distance: the 50K and marathon have no remote drop bags, while half marathon participants may leave a drop at the finish to access after the race.
This is a cupless event. Runners must carry a refillable cup and a functional hydration system of at least 20 oz to refill at aid stations. Aid offerings include water, an electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel2O), sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Event limits and logistics include an entrant cap of 400 and a registration closing date of July 5, 2027. All finishers receive a commemorative award and podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
