Rutland Night 10k
The Rutland Night 10k is an evening event held at Rutland Water, starting and finishing at Normanton near the fishing lodge and Waterside Cafe. The event runs across three evenings: walkers on Thursday 05/11/2026 and runners on Friday 06/11/2026 and Saturday 07/11/2026. The course distance is 10 km and the minimum age is 15 years.
The route is traffic free and largely on well maintained footpaths. After the first few hundred metres most of the course is tarmac. The route follows the south shore, runs the length of the dam, passes through Sykes Lane, continues to the end of Whitwell Creek (the 5 km turn point) and then retraces back to Normanton. The course is illuminated throughout and Normanton Church is lit and visible from the route, but participants are required to carry a torch; head torches are recommended.
Run entries for 06/11 and 07/11 include chip timing, a personalised race number, parking at the Normanton site, a finisher medal, a glow wrist band, medical support and trophies for podium places. Walk entries for 05/11 include a personalised race number, parking, finisher medal, glow wrist band, on-course refreshments and medical support. There are no on-the-day entries; race numbers are collected on the evening and final event information is published in a race guide before the event.
Rules note that music players and buggies are not allowed, dogs may attend the Night Walk but not the Night Run, and some surfaces may be damp or muddy in places. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
